Our Family Trip to Jamestown, Virginia in November of 2012

image

image I took this with my Android; It was a view of the ocean, between the wooden planked fence, from back in the era, on the Island of Jamestown. I have another picture, that is simular, but I like this one better.

image A little History, n’ some insight on the area, statue, and era.

image I was standing directly below the chimney, in the house frame. I took this with my phone, I now wish I had taken this with my camera, It would’ve looked SO much better!!

The Start of Another Exciting Adventure – Pt. II

image

Boy, am I stuffed! The Hubby and I just left, Arthur’s Pizza Parlor, back in Dunn, N.C.. The pizza was AMAZING!!! Super nice people, awesome service, and, …. oh man!! THE FOOOOOOOOOD!! Well worth the money!! When my husband typed in the address, into my trusty ole’ Magelan, I was thinking, okay, this is going to be easy.  Yeah right.  We went on so many friggin’ po dunk backroads, that I started to think that we were going to end up like the morons on the movie, “Joy Ride”. The last road that really had me worrying, was called, “Chicken Farm Road”.  My Husband thought is was hilarious! I’m glad I can still make him laugh.
We are back on the road, truckin’ on I-95. The Hubbs is driving, and I am typing away, here on my blog. I drove about 6 hours, today. Started in Georgia, and ended up in Dunn, N.C.. Good little drive, if you ask me. I love to drive! Absolutely love it, I always have, I don’t know why, exactly, mine it is because it is MY quiet time, my time to think, meditate, my time to just chill out.
Anyways, on to more interesting topics, after we got settled in the truck, I decided to look up the place we are staying, and see of they had any pictures of the place, so that I could  share them with you all. In no way an I claiming these pictures, I am simply passing them along. They have not been edited, whatsoever.
  Yes, it is a VERY fancy looking place, by the photos, but we all know how places cm exaggerate! We probably won’t get at the hotel, till one am, but I will be so very thankful, if and when we do indeed make it, I want a shower, so bad!! {Hopefully after a quick walk on the beach!!} Driving long distances like this always make me feel icky, even if I showered before we left! {Am I the only one??}

So, take a gander at the captures, and I will hopefully be able to post something when we arrive, even if it is just a few of my own personal pictures!

The start of another exciting adventure!!

Here I sit, next to my Husband, in our GMC truck. We are driving to Va., on a .5O business .5O pleasure trip. We left the house about 010:00 this morning, it will be about a 10 hour drive for us. I absolutely love the drive, its always so real, and beautiful. This will be my first time going to Va. at this time of the year. We have both been to Virginia, together. Heavens, my Husband was born and raised in Va. So this is nothing new for him, I am glad he knows his way around, because I don’t! Lol!
Whew! Its FREEZING outside! I think they said it was 30* at 4 am, this morning, when I was still up, packing & cleaning house. I didn’t to bed, until about 05:45, and 5 minutes later, my Husband texted and said he was headed home early, so I just stayed in bed, and waited for him to come home. We ended up saying we were going to get up, in an hour, and leave by 09:00. Ha Ha Ha! Yeah. Right! We totally messed that up! Well, the good thing is, that we are on the road, and well on our way. Keep an eye here, for the latest updates, and don’t forget to follow our sister blog! – JFox’C Photography.Wordpress.com!

The state for Lovers!! {Virginia} May 2012

Alas! We are in the lovely State for Lovers!! {Virginia} I am sitting here in out hotel suite, typing a quick little post, Hoping that I don’t get too carried away! 🙂

Update:: So, we managed to leave last night around 20:00 hours, and we crossed the Virginia state line, about 07:00 hours this morning. When we left home, I drove almost 6 hours, we were about 1/2 way thru S.C., when I started nodding off, & had to ask my honey to drive. He ended up driving over @ the {Va.} state line & napped for a few hours. {Better to be safe, than sorry!!} I was already asleep, when he reached the Va. state line, he said he tried to wake me up, but I was dead to the world. LMAO, I had only been up 48 hours prior to that! I hadn’t been able to sleep because I was so excited about our trip, & I was trying to make lists of what to do, & what to remember to pack.

When we got closer to our home away from home, {My Honey was born & raised here in Va.}, We drove to Virginia Beach, & scouted out the local 3-star hotels. We are staying at a Super 8 hotel, right on the beach!! I am ecstatic!! I knew there was a reason I brought my best tripod!! I will post pictures later… I have only taken about 45 since we left home last night! ^_^

To my left is my Fiance, taking a short nap, trying to kill his migraine, before we go see the family. To my right, thru these 2 huge bay windows, is the lovely Virginia Beach. The water is gorgeous, & calm. There is a rocky dune/wave breaker out a little bit, & barely anyone on the beach. Guess what?? I forgot my bathing suit!!!

Until we meet again, . . . Hopefully I will have some pictures ready to post. ^_^  Ciao!!
