How to Do a Homemade Hot Oil Treatment

A DIY hot-oil treatment for your hair is simple, affordable and it works. “Giving hair a little attention and massaging your scalp really makes a difference in its texture and strength,” explains Mimi Kirk, author of “Live Raw: Raw Food Recipes for Good Health and Timeless Beauty.” Kirk, in her 70s, explains that using natural oils in her hair keeps soft and healthy-looking.

Things You’ll Need:

3 tsp. olive oil

1 tsp. honey

Saucepan

Spoon

Comb

Towel

Shower cap

Steps:

Step 1 of 4

Combine the olive oil and honey in a saucepan and heat the mixture over high heat until it boils.

Step 2 of 4

Take the saucepan away from the heat and allow the mixture to cool down. Stir the olive oil and honey so they’re well blended.

Step 3 of 4

Put the honey and olive oil mix onto your hair. Comb it through for best results. Wrap your hair in a towel or put it up in a plastic shower cap and leave the treatment on for between 15 and 30 minutes.

Step 4 of 4

Shampoo your hair as normal.  – Ami.
